  This Privacy Policy applies only to interactions between you and NewsSkunk and the NewsSkunk website. It does not apply to third parties or sites that may link to, link from or advertise on, this site. It does not apply to information obtained or used by NewsSkunk or its affiliates through other means.

  INFORMATION COLLECTED

  Information collected generally conforms to one of two categories: non-personally identifying information and personally identifying information.

  Non-Personally Identifying Information

  NewsSkunk may collect non-personally identifying information about users whenever they interact with the site. Non-personally identifying information may include the type of device, operating system, Internet service provider and browser used as well as technical information about users’ means of connection to our site, the time, date and length of visit, page views, approximate geographic location and other similar information that does not personally identify you. We may aggregate and provide this information to third parties for analytical purposes.

  Personally Identifying Information

  When you voluntarily provide it, we may also collect personally identifying information, including your name, contact information and certain demographic data. This may occur when registering, subscribing, engaging in transactions, providing user-generated content or comments, requesting customer service, reporting any problems with the website or service, providing feedback or similar situations. We collect credit card or other payment information only when necessary to process transactions.

  If you wish to forward content from our site to another e-mail address in conformity with the Terms of Use, we will need you to provide that person’s name and e-mail address to complete the request. While we may collect statistics on which articles are forwarded, we do not sell, rent, or market that person’s personal information.

  Note: NewsSkunk does not use the real names of non-publicly known individuals, businesses, or other entities in its Stories and other content, unless pre-approved by the individual. If NewsSkunk content contains the same name as your name, your business, your municipality, etc., it is just a coincidence.

  USE OF INFORMATION

  We will disclose personally identifying information when:

  To generate revenues necessary to maintain operations, and not require use of a paywall, NewsSkunk may solicit donations, sponsorships, subscriptions, advertise proprietary products, advertise third party products or utilize third party advertising platform services that place advertisements on the NewsSkunk site. NewsSkunk may not have control over, or prior notice of, who the advertisers are and we may not approve of their content, products and/or services.

  Advertising partners may utilize technologies such as cookies, beacons and other applications to enable their ads server to recognize your computing device and identify information about you. Users who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies before using the website. This Privacy Policy covers the use of cookies by NewsSkunk. It does not cover the use of cookies by third parties.

  By interacting with an advertisement, you may disclose personal information to the advertiser and are consenting to the possibility that the advertiser will make the assumption that you meet the targeting criteria used to display the promotion.

  NewsSkunk’s Privacy Policy does not apply to third parties you interact with. We recommend that you read the privacy policies of each website that you visit. Once you register with NewsSkunk and sign in to our services, you may no longer be anonymous to us or our advertisers.

  If you would like to de-register from NewsSkunk, send an e-mail with the heading “Unsubscribe” to the address listed in Contacts. NewsSkunk will remove your contact info within a commercially reasonable amount of time. The Site has no responsibility to take down, remove, or edit any of your public activities or remove your information from our backups prior to receipt of the Unsubscribe request.

This information, including  personally identifying information and/or content you developed and post publicly, becomes public information regardless of whether NewsSkunk and/or its representatives has the right to moderate and/or edit the content. Should you choose to disclose online in this manner, you do so at your own risk. Users, not NewsSkunk, also bear full responsibility for their postings that violate the intellectual property or other rights of others. Any customer feedback you submit in these areas may be used by NewsSkunk for the purposes of marketing, promotion, analysis, or to contact you for further information or feedback.

  The NewsSkunk website may include content, advertisements and other information that links to third party sites that are constantly changing.   JURISDICTION

  This Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use for this website shall be governed by, construed and enforced in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, as it is applied to agreements entered into and to be performed entirely within the Commonwealth, without regard to conflict of law principles. You agree that any cause of action you or NewsSkunk brings to enforce this Policy and/or the Terms of Use, or in connection with any matters related to NewsSkunk and/or this Privacy Policy, shall be brought only in either the state or Federal courts located in Henrico County and the City of Richmond, Virginia.   • Newspapers/Newsletters – you may not modify NewsSkunk content without prior written permission to do so. NewsSkunk will modify Stories to conform to the word count and other restrictions inherent with print publications.

  Restrictions
